Exercise Wednesday!
Aug. 13th, 2008 09:25 pmTime: 30 minutes
Distance: 2.94 miles
Top Speed: 6.5 mph
Calories: 387
Preacher Curl: 30 lbs.
Straight Arm Cable Pulldown: 45 lbs.
Seated Row: 60 lbs.
Lat Pulldown: 60 lbs.
I really had to push hard for that last little bit. Upping the speed on the treadmill even a little bit made quite a bit of difference. I also tried to up the weights for my lat pulldown, but I really couldn't manage it. I did the other three exercises first, so by the time I got to it my arms were just about ready to give out. I think what I'll do is the exercise that I'm increasing first, then cycle through them that way. We'll see if that works.

Aug. 7th, 2008 08:58 pmPreacher Curl: 30 lbs.

Wide Grip Lat Pulldown: 60 lbs.
Seated Row: 60 lbs.
One of the treadmills (my favorite!) is out at the resident's center, and there are a lot of people wanting to use the one remaining. I figure I would let them use it and try again tomorrow and (hopefully) Saturday.
There is a new poem, "Drone," on
writerrabbit. Please stop by and tell me what you think!
Thank you all so much for all of your birthday wishes. :) I got quite a few of them over LiveJournal and text and e-mail, and I'm in the process of trying to respond to all of them. You guys rock, and I appreciate all of the good thoughts. It really does mean a lot to me.
Yesterday
toob and I helped
andreal celebrate his birthday at the Melting Pot.
mut and I had briefly considered holding our dinner there, but quickly scrapped the idea once we saw the expense. There's no way we could ask people to pay that much on such short notice! (Though this is precisely what Andreal did, and we were delighted to, so no worries there.)
This was my first time having fondue, and I have to say it was a singularly lovely experience. We had a brilliant three cheese fondue for appetizers, a 'fondue feast', which was essentially a sampler of all the meats the restaurant was most proud of, and Smores chocolate fondue for dessert. Some of the food was so good you just had to laugh out loud, it's that ridiculous.
I got a deluxe onyx edition Scrabble board (thanks
harlkyn!) and a signed copy of Fables: The March of the Wooden Soldiers (thanks
mut!!), and a chocolate cake from the gang at work. I'm hoping that we can invite a friend or two to help me break in the Scrabble board some time this weekend.
For now, though, I think I will watch Derailed, drink some wine, and cuddle with my dragon.

Exer-Wednesday!
Apr. 23rd, 2008 07:11 pmTime: 33 minutes
Distance: 3.17 miles
Top Speed: 6.6 mph
Calories: 331
Lat Pulldown: 60 lbs.
Seated Row: 60 lbs.
Straight Arm Pushdown: 45 lbs. x2, 30 lbs. x1
Preacher Curl: 30 lbs. x2, 20 lbs x1
I really wanted to pay attention to form this time around, but push myself to do as much as I can even still. I'm pretty pleased that I was able to go a bit further than I thought I would, but there's still work to do. Hopefully next week I can get myself up to 45 lbs for the Pushdown and 30 lbs for the Preacher Curl for all three sets. With perfect form, I might add.
I've been fairly good with food so far this week, though on Tuesday I did allow myself to eat Taco Bell. I had a Gordita Supreme with beans instead of meet, Fiesta Potatoes (seasoned potatoes with cheese and sour cream? Holy shit, why have I not had this before??) and a cheese bean and rice burrito, which wasn't that good, actually. Next time I'll just get a bean burrito, and ask them to add rice. :)
Today isn't the best either; I'm having pineapple and mushroom pizza. Maybe that's the reason my weight refuses to go down. ;)

Exercise: Tuesday Edition
Feb. 19th, 2008 06:29 pmTime: 30 minutes
Distance: 2.73 miles
Speed: 6.2 mph
Calories: 281
Lat Pulldown: 60 lbs.
Seated Row: 60 lbs.
Straight Arm Pushdown: 30 lbs.
Preacher Curl: 20 lbs.
Not a bad session. I increased my weight on the lat pulldown and showed enough staying power with the preacher curl to stick with 20 lbs. for all three reps. Go me!
The treadmill I use has this annoying habit of crashing whenever I pause it to tie my shoe. I actually finished my five-minute warm-up and had to start all over. Boo!
Now, a quick shower, and then a final evening with a local friend who's moving. *sniff* More boo!
