I'm not, contrary to popular belief, really a jackalope. I was born a small black child in Baltimore, MD, where I grew up to have a healthy love of the Orioles, crab cakes and John Waters. Once I graduated from high school, I moved further away from my hometown; to St. Mary's City, MD, then Arlington, VA, then Fayetteville, AR, and finally all the way out west, to Silicon Valley, CA. In a few years, I plan to live in Hawaii. (Not really.)
I'm happy. I have a lovely husband (
toob), a great circle of friends both here and elsewhere, more hobbies than time to indulge them with, and a reasonably good (if faulty) head on my shoulders. There's always a lot to figure out about the world around me, though, and this journal is one of the tools I use to help me do that.
