Jericho started as a guilty pleasure that I had to defend from a lot of people, but holy Jiminy Cricket did it get good. The entire second season was just a piping hot plate of fried gold, right up to the end. Brilliant set up for a season 3 we'll never see, which would have the former United States embroiled in all-out civil war. As [livejournal.com profile] toob said, why weren't they doing this kind of stuff in season 1??

The fact that Skeet Ulrich looks like [livejournal.com profile] rozberk doesn't hurt either. Rowr.

Man, I'm really going to miss this show. When I wasn't looking it became a favorite of mine. :)

CBS released their upfront schedule today!

Jericho is nowhere to be seen on Wednesday nights, meaning they've canceled it.

I have to say I'm pretty disappointed; the show began with an excellent hook but quickly bungled it with bad storylines and really stale conflict...then rallied in the second half with much improved writing and a solid, cliffhanger finale. In the ratings it started off strong, but then became one of the many shows in the last five years to be sent to an early grave thanks to American Idol...and the great Hiatus Experiment that so many networks tried and failed with this season.

It turns out we'll never know how things went with New Bern. :/
