Heyooooooouuuuuuuuuuuuu!
Nov. 24th, 2001 05:33 pmHey there, all...
Work was work, and that's all I have to say about that. Actually, it was *really* slow. I got all of my work done in pretty much no time, and that allowed me to write and read for about half the night. That was pretty cool.
I finally got down an outline for "Three Miles Out," in which I discovered quite a few things. I was trying to make the story too large; there's a lot of filler that simply doesn't really need to be there. So, I've cut down the time window from 4 days to 2, and I have a semi-clear vision of where the story goes. It's taking shape nicely; the only problem is making sure I don't turn this into a rant against Muslim-bashing, which really isn't as bad as I made it out to be. I think I was just pissed at the so-called "War on Terrorism" at the time.
I've picked up "Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone" at WalMart the other day, and I've been reading that. It's actually a very charming book, even better than the movie...which is saying something because I liked the movie a lot. There's quite a few scenes that are just funnier in the book; J.K. Rowling has a pretty nice sense of whimsy and humor that lends itself to a very wonderful take on wizardry. I think I'll have to get the next few books in the series. I've become a fan. :)
Other than that, not too much is going on. After I fiddle around with my tarot cards a bit more, I'll have a go at a reading. I guess more than anything, it'll be a "What now?" kind of thing. Just a little something to point me in a direction.
I have to get together a Christmas list for people; since I won't have a lot of money to spend on people (what else is new?), I'll have to resort to a lot of mixed tapes, stories and/or personal items for Christmas gifts. maybe they don't mean *too* much to some people, but the hand-made, personal shit means a lot more to me. :) Oh well...
Anyway, I'm off to write more stuff, or something.
