Hey there, all...
There's been a lot of fallout recently, but I'm dealing with it. Things are finally changing, and I'm trying to mold it so that the changes are positive. I have no idea how things got so...damaged, without me knowing about it, but, there you go. Maybe I did know it all along, and just expressed it by bitching about random various things that ultimately don't matter.
I've been dropping association with people who I see as doing more harm than good right now, while trying my best not to be one of those people with folks who've been trying to get closer to me. I've had more than a few people tell me that the reason they're not closer is because I've been holding them at arm's length...which is true for the most part. So I'm working on being more open with people, without trying to sound egotistical or self-absorbed.
Work's been really good. I don't think I'm in danger of getting fired too much any more, since I got 4 hours added to my schedule (I'm now just about full-time, at 34 hours.), which should help me get my Christmas shopping done a bit easier this year...as long as I don't go nuts with buying things.
I auditioned for a local film that's being shot in Fayetteville! The audition seemed to go really well, and I think the folks who saw me were really pleased. I'm keeping my fingers crossed...more on that once I get word on whether or not I actually got the part. It's nothing big, but it's something. <:) Ramadan starts on November 6th this year, and I'll be observing it again. I've been doing a bit more research on it, and I found out quite a few interesting things. I'd like to learn a lot more about it so I can have an easier go of it; last year was kinda brutal, and I actually *slept* during the day...so...this year should be an exercise in resolve. ;) For those that don't know, Ramadan is a month of fasting in the Islam religion, where you don't eat or drink anything (with exceptions for circumstances) from sunrise to sunset, and you only eat what you need at night. It's supposed to be a time of cleansing and humbling...from what I understand it's the holiest time of the year for Muslims. I rather like the idea of ritual cleansing and a bit of lowering of perspective, and well, given the climate in the States right now, Muslims could use a show of support. I'll post links and stuff to sites about it if anyone's interested in joining me. *winkwinknudge* Everything's cool, for the most part. I'm just taking things day by day and all that 12-step crap. :) Going to make a new LiveJournal devoted to movie, music and book reviews. More on that later, too. Now, movie then bed. Good night.
