Hey there, all...

Well, in a few hours I'll be off to the wondrous debacle of sleep deprivation, Memphis BBQ and all-night conversation that is Mephit Fur Meet. I'm looking forward to what's always been a fun time, but there are a few issues that have kind of been worrying me about things...

A. I'm po. Nothing new, but it's always a little stressy.
B. It's my first MFM without Joey. We met there, so, it's special.
C. Tigerfolly won't be there, afaik. The past couple years, he's been undoubtedly one of the highlights of the con. It won't be the same without him.

Barring that, it should be an absolute blast. I'm running the Spirituality 101 panel and Attempt No. 4 is in their con book, so hopefully those two minor successes will buoy me into being more productive.

I think one of the main reasons I'm not writing very well these days is because I really don't lose myself into my art. In fact, I don't really dig too deeply beyond surface thoughts these days...mainly because I'm too busy being...sociable. And even then, I don't think I'm being really friendly or thoughtful...just talking to people to be talking.

I constantly feel like I'm on the verge of something good, and all I have to do to get there is take a risk, drop everything and fall in. But I'm so...used to juggling eggs that I really don't want to deal with the mess of dropping them. Hmm.

I have an idea; and time will tell to see if it works.

Good luck to [livejournal.com profile] joshuwain in his interview. You really, really deserve this break. Go for it!

Magnolia Symbolism: Raining Frogs

what movie symbolism are you? find out!

You are 48% geek
You are a geek liaison, which means you go both ways. You can hang out with normal people or you can hang out with geeks which means you often have geeks as friends and/or have a job where you have to mediate between geeks and normal people. This is an important role and one of which you should be proud. In fact, you can make a good deal of money as a translator.

Normal: Tell our geek we need him to work this weekend.

You [to Geek]: We need more than that, Scotty. You'll have to stay until you can squeeze more outta them engines!

Geek [to You]: I'm givin' her all she's got, Captain, but we need more dilithium crystals!

You [to Normal]: He wants to know if he gets overtime.
