I'll explain this later, but I think I might be done with alcohol for a good long while. Maybe even until well after when I'm settled in to CA. This decision has nothing to do with me (I haven't had much alcohol in, oh, about a month or more), but watching other people deal with it has ruined my appetite as of late.

There are a lot of people who are at E3 at the moment (I was going to say everyone and their mom, but really it's only 3). Everywhere I turn, it seems more and more people are getting more and more serious about video games. I'd like to say I understand it, but I really don't; if you give me a generic fighting game (with at least one character I can latch on to) or Tetris or a puzzla game or something, I'm good. Even giant anthro animals dangled over my head wasn't enough to get me sucked in. I'm beginning to wonder when I missed the memo. :) I think it's because I'm much more attracted to words and ideas than anything visual; I'll get obsessed with stories and settings and tabletop RPGs and songs, but art and video games I just can't seem to muster up the same level of excitement for. I worry that this might alienate me from a lot of my friends.

There's this pure-D asshat who reviews movies for the Fayetteville Free Weekly. Like most local movie reviewers, he uses his columns as a thin excuse to display his cynical intellectual superiority by reducing movies to one-paragraph synopses and then wasting 425 words figuring the most clever way to tear it down. There are a lot of bad movies out there, don't get me wrong, but when you devote more space to your column trying to justify a tangent only you think is clever than actually deconstructing a movie, then something's wrong. Anyway, his latest 'victim' was "Akeelah and the Bee," and at this point I think I might have to write my first letter to the editor.

Oh! I've seen 30 movies so far this year. At least, that I can remember seeing. Though if you subtract movies I've seen multiple times, that total is probably significantly lower.

I'm trying to get stuff together enough so that I can start posting something on my FurAffinity page. We'll see how that goes.

Now, game!
