Sugar, We're Going Down

Ever since I've seen that spoof video someone's posted to Google Videos (which rocks inherently by the way) I've been mildly obsessed with that song...and Fall Out Boy in general. They're *great* to sing along to, though I'm not sure I sound quite as...not annoying as the lead singer down when he hits high notes and all.

iridium_wolf are still rumbling, but gradually dying in intensity. I've declared somewhat of a moratorium on talking about it with me, in the hopes that people can put the whole thing down for a little while. Maybe next Tuesday we'll all go out for dinner somewhere, hash out a few things, and nail the coffin closed.
In the meantime, I've been enjoying a particularly satisfying bit of RP with a fellow on Tapestries. Taps, lovingly called by those of us 'in the know,' is pretty much an adult-oriented furry MUCK...which means sex abounds there in spades. ;) Yeah, there are those shameless hornballs who'll hump anything that moves, but what I've found is that their policy towards openness about sex leads to a much more relaxed, even mature atmosphere. People can see each other's descriptions, decide there's a mutual attraction, hook up and boink and then become friends after the haze of lust has cleared. It doesn't *always* work out that way, but maybe I've been fortunate in that many of the friends I've met there have followed that basic model. Also, I mettoob for the first time ever through Taps, so it has a special place in my heart. :)
Anyway, there lies Arroyo, who's been pursuing the field of magical herbalism for the past few years. (Hey, without shadowtigers there to occupy his time, he's got to fill it somehow.) I've always just kind of used that as a BS excuse to be able to do what I rather enjoy doing -- enlarging people to embarrassing bigness. ;) I've toyed around with an idea or two, but I've never really delved into the intricacies and specifics of the profession until, well, maybe the last month or two. Now I've had to really think about how to approach how Arroyo does his job, the problems and limitations of his particular brand of magic, etc. etc. More than anything, I'm finding that while the potential for potency in a particular brew is almost limitless, the *biggest* problem is finding a way to make said changes believably permanent. Most any herbal concoction is going to 'wear off' as soon as the body metabolises the energy (and the herbs) and flushes it from the system...so in 8 - 24 hours, they'll be back to normal. Of course, there are *certain* things that the body never flushes, but most of those are poisonous and it'd be difficult to use that without significant and adverse effects.
I've been thinking about perhaps building a little Alchemical Shop for Arroyo, with his little burrow dug into the woods nearby. I could charge actual currency for services that would go towards, you know, building a fairly sizable complex. I think I'd want to annex it to the Shadowtiger Hall that's been his base of operations for...well, about five or six years now. Someone has to keep the light on just in case. ;)
Needless to say, thanks in no small part to several people who shall remain nameless for the sake of...modesty, Arroyo's been enjoying a bit of a resurgence as far as character goes, and as such my desire for character-based RP online has actually been *present* for the first time in a long time. I hope the trend continues. :)
The Move to California slowly but surely solidifies as time rolls on.arlekin and I have casually discussed melding my move and his planned Summer Road Trip to the point where we're working out how to coincide it. He wants to go through the southwest as well, and I'm thinking we can do the whole Texas-New Mexico-Arizona thing to SoCal and then on up to San Francisco where he'll drop me off and then head up to Anchorage on his lonesome. In the meantime, he can protect me from the white supremacists with his Aryan powers, and I can protect him from gangs in L.A. with my black powers. Everybody wins!
Hoooo I can't believe I'm doing this. Just the thought of it makes me all tingly. :) I feel incredibly grateful and good and lucky right now.
