I Have No Eyebrows
Jul. 21st, 2005 05:18 pmWow...you know, there's a lot of anger out there today, even for LiveJournal. But then, tonight's a full moon so what would you expect? :)
I'm feeling all right, if a bit antsy about Getting Things Done(tm). I have an idea for a short story (it's an uber-late birthday present, so I'll probably get something else for this year, and then hopefully the story will be done for next...I'm not kidding, it'll probably take that long :P), and another short story, and a response for an e-mail RP that I have let go for an embarrassing long time; there's the poem for today, the idea of which I like but I'm worried for the execution, and character sketches for Salvation, and the skits between characters for
writerrabbit, and a couple of descriptions for the MU*s, and...
Yeah, I wish I could just sit down and write forever. It's a good feeling, actually. Haven't had it in a while. :)
Work is all right, though we're buying a lot of books again now that Don is back. I'm trying not to despair too much over it, we'll see how it looks before the Bosses go to a Book Fair in Little Rock in a couple of weeks. Maybe between everyone here, we can get *all* the boxes prepped by the time they come back. >:) Other than that, just trying to keep sections straight; the Travel section is, as usual, a mess, and for some reason people feel like being consistently unkind to Gift Books, Cookbooks, and the Bible Commentary sections. I don't get it; you'd think considerate people, chefs and reverends would all be somewhat neater.
I'm at the point in "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" where I really can't put it down. It's been 'OK, shelve 5 books...then Chapter 8. All right, shelve 12 books...then Chapter 9' all day. I'm already liking this one a lot better than "Order of the Phoenix," because Harry's not nearly as big a prat in this one. Despite everything being so much darker, the characters don't feel as alien to me as they did in the last book. So I'm responding to it a *lot* more.
Unfortunately, the book's already been ruined for me (there seems to be a pandemic of that going around), but I've consoled myself with the fact that I pretty much guessed it...well, most of it. I'd say more, but I haven't finished it and, well...several people would leap from the shadows and stab me with whatever's available. (On an only slightly related note, I am now in love with the term 'Irish confetti'.)
This weekend promises to be a little busy.
bamboofae has a friend from Elsewhere visiting, and
reahkitty and her beau will be down for the weekend too. This means several days of being unabashedly social; a great big couples dinner on Friday evening (
toob, where are you?? :(), ReahandRuss' big Renewal Saturday night, and possibly a short vacation with the family of
arlekin after that. Oh! And hopefully I'll get to pick and revise the poems that I hope to submit in this next go-round.
I'm mostly all right, if just wanting to soak up everything I want to do. I really wish that I were unemployed or had a part-time job or *something* so I could pursue all these interests that have been springing up, but really that's only envy talking. :) What I really need is better time-management.
I've been tagged with a meme and wanted to do a quiz or two, but those'll have to wait until later. Aren't you all glad? ;)
