Never To Make The Same Mistake Again

Hey there, all...
It's been a little bit since I've updated this thing, eh? Well, sorry, if any of you are reading this regularly. I've been working quite a bit and otherwise occupied, but not really doing anything of any importance. You know how it goes, right?
Anyway, I've just finished a 50+ hour work week at EZ Mart, and I have one more night to go tonight before I actually get two days off for the first time, in like...15 days! Hurrah for me! I don't think I'd know what to do with all that free time. :)
Despite being there way too much, work has been more than bearable...it's been fun, even. Part of it is that my old Leonine competitive streak has flared up again with this latest contest...it's pretty sad that you're using muscular dystrophy to justify your existence, but one must take his existential meaning where he can get them.
The Muscular Dystrophy Association is holding their annual Shamrock Drive, where we try and get people to donate $1 for a green Shamrock, or $5 for a Golden Shamrock. Of course, there's employee incentives for how much you donate, but that's not really important. The prizes are kinda lame. :P
What is important is I'm the lead clerk in my store! So far, I've raised $244 for the MDA, and there's a good chance I'll be one of the top three salespeople for the entire drive! Yay me! If I am, I get my choice between a DVD player and a 17" TV or something. I think I'll choose the DVD player, get three really good furry movies on DVD and donate it for the auction at MFM next year. :)
It's been a while since I've been proud of myself for something. It feels silly, but pretty good. ;)
Elsewhere, there's a pretty strong desire to slough off another layer of crap that I've collected since childhood. I kinda thought Raven was pecking at me, but this morning I got a pretty strong message He had a hand (talon?) in it when I looked at three different horoscopes and they said the same thing: "Get rid of some baggage; it's time to start anew."
I *know* a lot of you are rolling your eyes by now, since the whole totem business (and especially horoscopes) isn't exactly up your alley. But, well, I take stock in 'coincidences' like that and give them another name. It may not be the best way to live your life, but it's mine, so nyeah. :)
On a slightly related note, I've been thinking more and more and more how much I miss the East Coast...little things like Utz potato chips, and Old Bay seasoning, and really *good* crab cakes, and the Papermoon Diner, and Tastycake Chocolate Cupcakes and Krispy Kremes...Oh, god, the Krispy Kremes...
I'm gonna *have* to spend some time out there or I'm gonna explode.
Erm, writing, sleep and breakfast sounds good. Though not necessarily in that order.
I *really* need to catch up on e-mail too.
