<user site="livejournal.com" user="duncanroo"> had this really awesome idea that I just had to steal. <:)
Today is Thanksgiving in the United States, and it's usual place in the holiday season is to kind of kick-start into the Christmas spirit; stepping back and taking a moment to remember everything that you've got to be appreciative for and honoring it. These days, it's seemed to take on only the connotation of "Day you eat everything you can before you murder people for holiday shopping tomorrow." So, in the interest of being (somewhat) traditional, this year, here is what I am thankful for:
+ <user site="livejournal.com" user="toob">, who has singlehandedly and irrevocably changed me for the better, and makes me only want to continue this trend.
+ <user site="livejournal.com" user="lazarusrat">, who keeps me honest and beats me into making sure I keep things in perspective.
+ <user site="livejournal.com" user="foxen_alopex">, who does the same...but with a sexy Australian accent!
+ All of the people that I know, who support and appreciate me, who remind me that I still have the potential to be an asshole, who teach me lesson after lesson after lesson that it might look like I don't learn...but really I am. :)
+ My job, which allows me to completely revolve my life around books. It may not be glamouous, but it's what I love doing.
+ All of the Buddhas and bodhisattvas, medicine men and shamans who have lit the path that I currently follow, and the Tricksters who place rocks, squishy things and venemous insects to make sure I'm actually paying attention to where I'm going.
+ Butter toffee cookies at WalMart. :9
I could go on, but it's time to take care of the food portion of our program. >:) Happy Thanksgiving!
