Piecemeal Grab Bag
Dec. 18th, 2002 02:03 pmHey there...
Sneaking on from work; there's not a connection up from home just yet, so I thought I'd pirate the Internet while filling orders.
The move has gone pretty successfully, considering it was so disorganized. We're still badly in need of silverware and stuff, but for the most part everything's settled in. We're networking Joey's apartment to ours today, so we should have at least a partial connection up and running this week. (Joey has a cable Net connection.)
Finally installed Mandrake Linux onto the computer. I have *no* idea where anything is (there's no C drives???) so I'm going to leave it alone until there aren't so many deadlines pressing in on me (Spiritwolf and Malin are probably not too happy right now) and then I'll fish around for a bit. In the meantime, I'm going to keep my eyes peeled for a Linux for Dummies thing. I would get the instruction manual, but I *know* it'd be a bit too dry for me to understand.
Got a cold over the weekend, and it's kicking my ass. I called in Monday at noon ( I was supposed to be there at 9) after moving all of my stuff until 6 a.m. that day and I got royally bitched out by Charles. I sort of deserved it; at the Bookshop, you don't call in three hours after your shift starts.
My roommates are all really great; we're settling into a good dynamic and all of us are adapting to the environment pretty well. I think this'll work out for a while.
Can't think of anything else. Blah.
