I just finished up a pretty decent Changeling game (which, hopefully, I'll post here tomorrow), had a pretty good conversation with <a href="http://www.livejournal.com/~rozberk>Rozberk</a>, and had a very nice, productive day at work. Now, I'm gonna go eat doughnuts and ice cream before bed. Life is grand. :D

The Story So Far
Our heroes (Jack Flash, Gabriel Yorke, Adrian Alexander and Richy Milos) just met each other at the ROTCI Bar and Grill and shared the world's longest brunch. Now, they've all gone their seperate ways to gather for the night's coming events; Jack has to get ready for the opening of his club, Adrian must prepare for a night of erotic art with his Dreamer, and Gabriel and Richy look forward to a Goo Goo Dolls concert.

Meanwhile, Gabriel's being followed by a pair of rather dour-looking fellows in black suits, and Jack just acquired a rather rambunctious chimerical puppy who can at least hold his own when he's hunting down prey. The rest of the gang have made disturbing discoveries of their own; a liver that Adrian discovered outside of Diana's apartment, and a brain in the parking lot where Richy parked his Volkswagen.

Now, as nightfall approaches, there are even more surprises in store for these fae...

Game Summary

As the story opened, nightfall was just beginning to descend on Fayetteville, and people -- college students and townies alike -- were just emptying onto Dickson Street, looking for places to leave their money for the evening. As Jack entered The Keep to oversee the opening of his club for the evening, Bob approached him about a 'visitor' in the back room, a puppy with a cow. Jack went back to find Killer waiting for him with a freshly dead cow he got from ROTCI. After giving him a brief primer on being a redcap's pet, Jack left Killer to devour his prize.

Meanwhile, Gabriel, Eldrin, and Richy all converged onto The Keep, along with a few new faces; a troll, new to town and looking for work, decided to give the nightclub a try. Also, the first person in that night was an obnoxious jerk who insulted everything from the bar, to the bartender, to the music. (Granted, the music was pretty horrific as KOMPRESSOR was slated to perform.) The troll decided he would take matters into his own hands; after a brief scuffle, he tossed the man out onto the street, but not before discorvering a wire-tap and antennae on his person first.

Gabriel sat down next to Eldrin and talked for a bit, learning of a condition the satyr is afflicted with; he's subject under the 'faerie tale' that faeries can only drink whiskey and milk after sundown. Eldrin, in turn, learned that Gabriel never went through an official Saining. They continued talking until Jack came to them with a disturbing bit of news; the wiretap had a disturbing amount of Banality wrapped up in it. Jack deduced that such a device could only come from one of the Dauntain, faeries who reject their nature and seek to kill other fae, but Eldrin had another hypothesis -- that the device might actually belong to the Technocracy, a band of magicians with incredible power. Either possibility was decidedly bad.

Richy decided he would do something about the music; he headed over to the sound guy and slipped him a tape full of the Greatful Dead, simply marked "Good Times". After a talk with Jack, KOMPRESSOR was rudely shunted off-stage and whisked off to perform in the bathroom, with his one true fan. The tape was played, and good times were started indeed.

While the dance floor filled up, Richy approached a shy sluagh by the name of Amy and talked with her for a bit. When Richy proposed skipping out of the club for some absynthe, Amy perked up immediately and rushed to the floor for Cara, who the troll, recently employed as a full-time Keep bouncer, has managed to hook up with. Just as the four were getting set to head out for the evening, their gaze was attracted upwards.

A boy of about 16 was sitting on the rafters, gazing down at the crowd below. The mortal crowd didn't notice his presence, but the establishment's fae sure did. Gabriel, seated across the room, talked to him and found that the boy's dog and girlfriend, named Olivia, had left him. Much more couldn't be said, though, since he jumped suddenly to the floor.

The troll, standing right under the child, rushed to grab him -- only to have him disappear seconds before he fell into his arms. Gabriel and Eldrin approached Jack about Killer, who had grown quite a bit since his bovine feast. Now roughly three times his original size, he made for quite a big puppy. He told the three that the boy committed suicide all the time, and he ran away because the kid never wanted to do anything fun. When it was discovered that a brain had been left on the dance floor, Killer leapt up to eat it.

Upon returning, the fae learned some more disturbing news; whenever the child kills himself, he *always* leaves a body part behind. It's Killer's 'job' to consume it and reproduce it when his master comes back 'to life'. Upon being asked, the golden retriever not only conjured up the brain he just ate, but the entire cow he ate hours before! It was learned that Killer actually killed the cow by sucking it dry of Glamour, then consuming it...something that disturbed Eldrin and Gabriel greatly. Jack, however, was pleased as punch.

Meanwhile, Adrian enjoyed a romantic dinner at a fine Italian restaraunt with Diana, and a trip to the art store to buy paints. Diana had big plans for the night; after pouring paint on their bodies and a huge, 6' x 9' canvas, they would enjoy a night of well...making art. Things went as planned...almost.

While Adrian and Diana rose to the height of their...art-making, Adrian looked up to see a 16-year-old girl staring down at him maliciously with a kitchen knife in her hand. "You're going to do this for the last time," she said, and then stabbed him, flaying his arm open from elbow to wrist. She also managed to stab Diana in the neck before she finally disappeared, leaving Adrian with a near-useless arm and Diana with a neck-ache she just attributed to well, artistic injury.

In reality, the wound on Diana's neck is a nasty one; Glamour is seeping from it instead of blood. The best thing Adrian could do, of course, was massage her neck and cover his own wounds, not telling her what actually went down.

Finally, the night drew to a close. Eldrin, sloshed on whiskey, stumbled home in the dark. Gabriel left for the relative safety of his apartment. Jack shut down the Keep and headed home. Richy and the troll went back to the troll's apartment for absynthe, and Adrian fell into an uneasy slumber with questions buzzing in his head.

Who does the wiretap belong to, and why would they bother with a place like The Keep? Why is the boy popping up now suddenly? Is he one of the nervosa, dreams borne of sickness and death? Who is Olivia, and where is she? What does a cute (we use the term loosely) puppy like Killer have to do with any of this? Why is there homicidal chimera skulking around Diana's apartment? And why is there a pooka named Fox Mulder asking questions and flashing an obviously fake badge?

Hopefully, we'll get some answers in two weeks.

P.S. -- "The troll" is played by Hethe, whose character's name I forgot. Sorry. :)
