DefCon One
May. 15th, 2002 07:41 amThe roommates and I had a long talk last night, and the crisis blooming seems to have been averted. Much to my relief. There's still no word exactly on whether or not we're going to move to this nice 4 br apartment we found, but apparently whatever Joey told Odis sure did sweeten the pot.
My schedule got changed at work, which I don't mind, but for some reason I'm finding myself becoming adapted to a 'normal' schedule; you know, awake during the day, asleep at night? It's a disturbing feeling for some reason, probably because I've spent the past year and a half doing something completely different.
Odis and I played mini-golf again yesterday. The first game was really tight; I started out two strokes ahead, built a lead up to four, but he kept chipping away at it after I missed this series of long puts. In the end, it all came down to the 18th hole; he made it in one and got a free game, while I managed to get it for par. He only beat me by one stroke...it was probably the most intense mini-golf game I've had in a while. Usually I'm good enough to just waste anyone sorry enough to step up to the tee with me. >:)
The second game wasn't nearly as close; I choked on the first two holes, and he was about six strokes ahead to start. I never caught up. On the other hand, we had this *excellent* sliver moon that Venus guided through the sky. Jupiter looked on above them, and we watched the sky turn from this stratosphere of azure and orange to a deepening midnight blue. That made the moon and stars all the more crisp. It just sort of reminded me of the reasons Arkansas rocks.
I'm feeling very peaceful today, though I still have a lot to do. Attempt No. 4 was well-received by TC, so...mission accomplished I guess. :) The other two short stories are breathing heavily down my neck, and I'd like to get started on this Choose Your Own Adventure story idea I've got cooked up.
Meanwhile, once I finally got Odis to agree to play in my game, *Aubrin* flaked out on it. While I can't really blame him, it was discouraging enough for me to just drop the idea. I've got too much other stuff to do, and I can't find a good day for it anyway, so I'll just hold off for now. I do have an idea for a Changeling game on-line, and I'll try to round up people for that.
In other news, the reason my bike tire is being such a butt is because I'm buying an inner tube too small for it. <:) Hurrah for the ignorance of youth, eh? :) Off to make sandwiches and stuff for work.
