Contraband
May. 4th, 2002 07:42 amHey there...
So, once upon a time I was able to make this a pretty regular thing. What happened?
My momentum's slowed down a bit, which is probably a good thing since you can only keep up a break-neck pace of optimism for so long. Attempt No. 4 should *finally* be finished and sent off to Tyger Cowboy today, and I've removed quite a few things that would have made it objectionable. I also tightened up the individual 'chapters', made the transitions between them (hopefully) smoother, and tacked up the ending, since it sagged quite a bit.
I haven't started on Attempt No. 5 yet, mainly because I'm just...apprehensive about it. It's a historical piece, and I want to be as accurate as possible, and I'm too afraid my ignorance will show. I should probably just stop being so damned vain and go do it. :)
I'm still feeling pretty good these days, basking in the glow of...well, productivity. I'm not frustrated about being stuck in a rut or anything; if I am, then it's because I've allowed myself to be. I feel so overwhelmed with all the things I want to do, but it's not stopping me from doing them, and I guess that's the important part.
Let's see...I still haven't fixed my bike, but I *have* been doing pretty simple exercises, and trying to watch my diet a bit more. I've been cheating the past couple days (I have no willpower), but keeping yourself fit shouldn't be that hard; I'm just starting myself off small and working my way up eventually. Ideally, I want a lithe, dancer's build. With lots of hair.
Man, these posts are just so scattered. ;)
I'm content. :) I picked up a few more comics at Rock Bottom, and now I'm collecting enough titles to have my own little box for when the new issues come in. :D Right now I'm reading New X-Men, Ultimate X-Men, X-Treme X-Men, TMNT(!!), and this really cool fantasy comic called Sojourn. It's put out by a 'small' press called Edge Comics, and so far it's neat, though I have to admit, I got it for the really neat cover, with a red dragon looming behind a Xena-lookalike.
