Guilty In-Roads
Jan. 30th, 2002 07:34 amHey there...
So far, life seems to be on an upward swing. Work was cool, I donated plasma (I think my vein may be collapsing from having a needle stuck in it all the time; that's not so cool :P), and that was cool, "The Way Things Are" is coming along nicely, and that's cool...I got a few more ideas for stories, but they'll have to wait their turn. Heh. Cool.
I'm a train building momentum, baby. I hope I've got enough coal.
Oh, and one mention of a guilty pleasure. You know that song, "Whenever, Wherever" by Shakira? She's that recently blonde Colombian chick who's trying to conquer American airwaves at the moment. Well...I really, *really* like that song. And "I'm Like A Bird" by Nelly Furtado.
I passed them both off as just another ocouple of the teenybopper clones when I first heard about them, but, well...the songs are so damned catchy. And every interview I've read with these ladies are really interesting. They actually think, especially Shakira, who was frighteningly thoughtful in her Maxim interview. (Yes, I read Maxim. It's funny, OK?) I guess there's proof that you can be thoughtful *and* pop at the same time. Gods bless you, Shakira and Nelly.
Now it's off to e-mail land. Woot.
