So, after the angst-bucket of this weekend, I've determined that I need to relearn when to let things go. The situation in the last journal entry hasn't been resolved, but really...resolution is a state of mind more than anything else, so I'm going to do my best to be chill about it. I'm not *cool* with it by a long shot, but it looks like things are going to come to about as close as we can get to an understanding, so we'll leave it at that.

Thanks everyone for the insightful commentary.

Thanks everyone for the insightful commentary. <:) I didn't even think about things like hormones, or other mitigating factors that might make this person the way he is, and now that they possibly factor into the equation I have a bit more...footing on it, to say the least. Also, the incomparable Musewoozle gave me something to chew on that's helped immensely. I'm not sure my understanding of it is correct, but it still helped. :)

Friday I had my prelude for Odis' epic Dragonlance game...but what game of Odis' isn't epic? :P It was...interesting, and that's all I can really say about it since I was sworn to secrecy. I would just like to go on record as saying that Odis is a stone-cold fucker and I'm going to be having dreams about what the actual first game is going to be like, two weeks from now. It's very nice that I have my trip to Texas and California to distract me a little.

I leave for points westward on Thursday! :D I will be hooking up with my most excellent friend Ipequey, DNApalmhead for at least a day, maybe two, and the dreamy <user site="livejournal.com" user="drleo">. I'm really looking forward to it; I haven't seen good ol' Ip in years and there's a whole mess of catching up to do. Also, he'll have the opportunity to watch me gorge myself on beef for like, the first time ever. (I was vegetarian mostly through college.) Hopefully I'll do him proud at some all-you-can-eat place. ;D

After that, I leave for California on Sunday, where I'll be staying with Toob! *swoon* Hopefully I'll be able to catch Dingo and Duncan and the Pacific Ocean while I'm there, and even head into a Zen center or two, or talk to a representative for a monastery or two. I'm cooling on the idea of entering monastic life next year, but I'm still curious enough to see what it's like, establish connections for conversation over the fall and winter. We'll see what happens.

I've gotten three mixed CDs in the past two weeks! Yay! :D Thanks bunches, Foxen and Toob. :) I'm really digging them all, along with the Shins album. Now that I've listened to Eclectica II, I will *definitely* be playing it at the Bookshop! People will especially enjoy Brak and Mitch Hedburg. *Especially* Mitch Hedburg. I'll just have to make a loud, inappropriate noise at strategically-placed bits in his routine. :) ("Butter is way better than margarine. I saw through the bull--"QUARTER!!)

Work is going to be interesting for the next three days. Charles and Don come back from Little Rock on Tuesday, and I haven't really done anything special in honor of their absence. Which means I'll have to bust my ass tomorrow...I'm planning to head in an hour early, leave an hour late, drink a lot of coffee and straighten tons of books. Arkansas, Religion, Poetry sections get first crack, then hopefully I can straighten Occult/New Age, Crime, Law, Foreign Language, Travel and Central/Latin America duplicates tomorrow. Tuesday and Wednesday will be spent making sure all the ducks are in a row before vacation-time. Something tells me it's going to be kind of stressful.

Anyway, I really should start getting my ducks in a row. :)
