I've been talking to a few folks about possible trips in 2004/2005 and I'm rather excited about it. Pawpet Megaplex is just around the bend and I have to plan for that, and there's a wildlife sanctuary in Western Australia that offers free room and board to volunteers, though you have to pay for your own travel expenses, alcohol and telephone. Are you kidding??!? I'm pretty sure I can scrape together enough cash to make sure I've got the flow for working with kangaroos for *free*. :D

Roo Gully is its name, and it's in a place called Boyup Brook. Poked around the website, there doesn't seem to be much of a catch, really, so I'll be e-mailing them very soon. Ha ha, Fuchs, smelly black man is coming to your country. :)

I'm really excited about this!

Anyway, in planning this trip and others, and checking out cell phone prices and my credit report, I've learned a few things:

+ Leaving on a plane from Kansas City instead of Fayetteville knocks quite a bit off the price.
+ I prefer having an AT&T wireless plan, but I'll probably end up going with Cricket instead, especially if the deposit is too high.
+ I still have a bit of deliquency with my account that I should clear up.
+ Hey, wait a minute....Flying Fox lives in Florida now!!

There's a lot I need to do to get my finances in order; living a bit more cheaply, so not nearly as much eating out and learning to be content with cooking my own meals. Actually being aggressive about getting my debts paid up; I don't have many, but they were made back when I was stupid (pre-2000 or so) and they're still hanging around. Owning up to mistakes looks like it's going to be a recurring theme this year. Planning and sticking to a budget is going to be essential, too. But you know, to be able to travel as much as I plan to these next two years, it's going to be worth it. :)

I'm liking the way the next year sounds already. :)

As an added note, someone slashed my car's tires. Fuck.

Still ain't gonna ruin my high. :) *dance*

I'll have a more proper year-end post later, I suspect.
