Hey there, all...

Got up and hit the ground running this morning. <:)

I think I needed to have surgery to seperate myself from the mattress this morning, but no worries...my Siamese twin and I are doing just fine. :) I missed the bus, though, and had to procure a ride from a roommate, which turned out to be pretty pleasant. That means a lot, but I can't go into it just yet.

Meanwhile, at the Bookshop, things haven't calmed down. Now I'm going to have to seriously lobby for time off to make MFF; and even if I do get it, there's no guarantee I'll be able to see Fritzie and co. before and/or after the convention. They're looking very hard at letting one person go and reducing staff, which makes it a bit harder for all of us to maneuver much vacation time. We'll see how it pans out.

I finished Steppenwolf in the car yesterday, and I have to say I recommend it more than Damien, especially in regards to how it deals with depression, disappointment, social anxiety and self-image. While Damien is more of a fresh look into the soul, Steppenwolf has a lot more to do with re-imagining yourself after you've already worked yourself in to a depressive paradigm, learning how to find happiness again after you've already given up on the idea. In a lot of ways it's more hopeful, because it proves that no matter how far you've gone down, you can always pull yourself out of it again, somehow.

One of the things that I'm seriously considering is 'updating' my wardrobe. My closet is full of 7 and 8 year old clothing that's moth-eaten and severely thread-bare, and this winter is going to be pretty hard if I don't get something a bit...new. I've been toying with the idea for some time, but now's the time to do something about it. <:)

Most of the time, I'm a khaki and t-shirt kind of person, mainly because they're the clothes that have survived the longest. ;) Next time I go clothes-shopping, though, I think I might stock up on button-up shirts, sweaters, slacks, suits, suspenders and the like. I'm also going to be checking eBay for pocketwatches and neat hats, since, well, they're neat. A friend made the surprising announcement that skewing in such a direction was pretty unoriginal, and well, maybe it is, but I like it anyways.

And now, back off to work, and lunch, maybe. No, lunch definitely. :9
