Hey there, all...

This was a pretty cool weekend. :) Worked late on Friday, and it turned out to be incredibly slow...which was good, as it allowed time to finish the short story I'd been working. Yes, I actually finished a short story! Hooah! It's ass right now, since it's only in the first draft, but it's something, it's finished and I can actually edit it, because it's done! *dance* Hurrah for accomplishment. It's for Mustsy, and I think I'm going to wait for the critiques of everyone else before I really start to dig in on it. I also wrote a couple of poems that I need to work on, but once they're all done I'll post them here. Because I'm sadistic that way.

I rode the high of completion pretty much all weekend; enjoying RPing the best scene ever for a long, long time with a very close friend on Saturday, and hung out at a Bookshop party after that. I got pleasantly soused on Matt's merlot, but I lost Trivial Pursuit to Katy. :/ I'll have to get revenge somehow before she reaches Germany. >:)

The more I talk to Matt, the more I like him. He's going to college for his master's in creative writing, and he's a picky bastard who's a snob in a very pleasant way...if that's possible. (I'm sure it's not, but he's new.) He's been pretty encouraging, though, and fun to talk to. He's also one of those really aggravating people who get down on themselves and can't be logiced out of it because they're...more logical than you are. (Like [livejournal.com profile] toob.)

Sunday, saw "Tomb Raider: Cradle of Life" (Not as bad as the first one, but guess what? It still sucked.) and went out to Olive Garden afterwards, for some God-affirming pasta. Even the leftovers rocked. :9 I had a cheese and portobello ravioli that made me weep real tears, it was that good. There was also a 12-year scotch that went surprisingly well with it. I often wonder why I bother with McDonald's (besides the fact I can get a double cheeseburger for a buck) when there's food like this around.

I also found out that the World of Darkness is ending over the coming months, culminating in various Apokalypti starting in January. Being the apocalyptophile I am, and seeing as how I've been a pretty old-school White Wolf fan, I'm mildly excited about it. However, I am NOT happy that they've decided to give Changeling one last big FU; the three books that are done and READY TO GO TO PRINT won't be released and the game's ending has to be shared with four others in one "End Times for the rest of us" volume. Argggggh. Small but rabidly loyal fanbase completely screwed over. Again. Unless they plan on revamping/redoing Changeling with this new setting they're unveiling in August '04, I really don't think I'll be supporting White Wolf very much after this. Bastards. I think I shall write a nasty letter.

2 Sense went well this week, I think. :) We're getting a good rhythm down, and I'm happy about that. I'm getting more confident about it.

There's a bunch of other stuff I wanted to talk about, like death and other things, cabbages and kings, but I have to go to work now.
