Hey there, all...

It's going to be an interesting weekend. I'm 'booked' for quite a bit, between "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle," "Hulk," "28 Days Later," and recording the new 2 Sense...all while trying to wrestle a good dozen pages of writing or so out of my muses.

<:) I'm looking forward to actually trying to pull it off. I should buy some extra whiskey, just in case.

Finished Herman Hesse's "Damien," and I think it's one of those novels that will end up being remarkably, completely influential in my perception of what mysticism and spirituality are. In fact, I've already taken quite a bit from it, but that's a subject for neither here nor there. I'll talk about it more later.

Right now I'm digging into "Father Elijah," which is turning out to be pretty interesting. I'm all about the apocalypse, so it looks like it'll be fun. :) Already after the first chapter, I'm kind of...questioning about the mindset this is coming from. Father Elijah is a Catholic (Carmelian?) monk (and thus already has my respect) who's very devoted to the Church. The ease with which he takes to prayer, and the fact that every thought so far has been pretty much centered around his vow, is very admirable. When faced with challenges to the papal view and the problems with the Church and its image to the common man, he takes a very hard 'they're wrong' stance. He doesn't question, and to me that's very important if you're to remain honest about your spirituality. I'm not sure if that sort of thinking is a requirement for a monastic lifestyle or not, but eh. <:) I'll just have to see.

I feel pretty good about the rate with which I've been devouring books. It's been a while since I've felt passionate about books, whether it's the idea of creating one or the joy of reading.

*grin* I'm really looking forward to hashing it out with my Muse. >:)
