Poems: No Longer American/Bookworm
Jan. 31st, 2003 01:36 pmI've written three poems this week, but the third needs some revising before I'm comfortable showing it. Anyway, here goes.
No Longer American
A quiet mind
pulled between the call of Out There
and the contentment of Elsewhere
looking to be filled by something
that doesn't ever need to be full.
What do you say
when there's too much to be spoken of?
There is too much to hold onto
not to let it flow through you,
like paper,
and simply enjoy every line for what it is.
Bookworm
There are sometimes
when you just can't read
fast enough.
No Longer American
A quiet mind
pulled between the call of Out There
and the contentment of Elsewhere
looking to be filled by something
that doesn't ever need to be full.
What do you say
when there's too much to be spoken of?
There is too much to hold onto
not to let it flow through you,
like paper,
and simply enjoy every line for what it is.
Bookworm
There are sometimes
when you just can't read
fast enough.
