I'm slowly getting into a groove with writing and reading. I've been trying to concentrate on making sure jakebe.com updates regularly, which means that regular updates here are kicked to the curb for a little bit. Sorry about that, but I'll try to do both as much as I can. In addition to blog updating, I want to knock out a short story in time for Halloween and get started on writing for the next Pathfinder game coming up in a few weeks. So there's definitely no shortage of things to work on, it's just a matter of making sure I push myself to be consistent with the work.

I've joined a Fitocracy Fitness Group called "Level Up Your Running" that kicked off this week. Ryan's joined a separate one that's more focused on weight training and diet, so we're both going to be making exercise a bigger focus in our lives for the next few months. That'll squeeze out time spent elsewhere (probably slacking), but I'm excited to see what this'll do for us in a few weeks time. I've been wanting to run on a regular basis forever, but pain creeps up on you after a while and it really does sap your will to run. In order to be successful at this, I'm definitely going to have to hydrate more and take care of my body a lot better, so there's that added benefit as well.

Just finished the novel Forests of the Night by S.A. Swann, which is a furry detective novel written by a mainstream sci-fi writer. It's a good book and an interesting look at how furry characters are handled by someone who isn't really involved in the fandom. A full review will be put up on jakebe.com next week. Now I'm on to Redshirts by John Scalzi. It'll be the first novel of his I've read, and it recently won the Hugo Award, so...good timing there.

I've had problems with my energy levels for a while now, and I'm not entirely sure why. I suspect it has something to do with my diet (especially my sugar intake), but I'm in a bit of a holding pattern until the exercise program begins in earnest. I'll definitely be trying to eat in more for breakfast and lunch at least; I could stand to take in a lot more protein and fresh vegetables, and way less carbs. I'll see if I can put together a plan that will allow me to do that. For now, though, back to the grindstone.
