Kiss The Demons Out of My Dreams
Jul. 14th, 2006 09:24 amI had lunch with an ex-coworker last night, and her husband. It turns out her husband is asst. fire chief for the entire city of Fayetteville. Big fish, small pond. :) Anyway, they're really very awesome people and I forgot how much I missed hanging out with them. We talked politics, local and national, the wisdom that comes with age, and all about how having a baby at 45 (which she did) is probably a very cool thing; after all the other children, it makes discerning what's truly important a lot easier, so you don't wig out on things unless you absolutely have to. :)
Anyway, she's agreed to work on my resume because it's something she absolutely loves doing. Her husband was one of two people considered for fire chief of Fayetteville all on the strength of the resume she made for him. Swanky, ain't it?
In two weeks, I'll be going in to work for the last time. Charles has been exceedingly nice about almost everything...beyond, you know, being Charles. :) I'm really, really going to miss this place. Even if I score a job in a used bookshop in CA, it won't be anything like this.
Now, work!
