*Just* as I finish digging myself out from the holidays financially, and *just* as I think maybe I'll be able to start saving a little bit to head to Australia *next* summer, my mom calls.
They're going to auction off her home on Feb. 2nd unless she can come up with $2300. The most I can send is $200. She might be able to take a loan from a member of her congregation, but there's just no guarantee she'll make it in time.
On one hand, it could turn out really well because it'll *force* her to move and maybe then she'll get a more humble place and start living within her means. On the other hand, I have no idea what she'll do if the house goes to auction. Worst thing is, she's in a horribly low place. I have NEVER heard my Mother call her life 'a joke,' and I never want to hear it again.
I can't decide if I should sit in the dark and cry, go get silly drunk, or beat my head into a wall until I pass out. Maybe I could work in all three.
