Maybe it's the fact that I had a brief conversation with a friend about my totem. Maybe it's the fact that I've been addressed as Rabbit exclusively in an exchange of e-mails between housemates and an impending visitor. Maybe it's the fact that Puc introduced me finally to the Disney version of all those Brer Rabbit stories. Whatever the case may be, I'm thoroughly enjoying an intensely Rabbit day.
Yesterday after work I sat down with a bowl of chili, a half-bottle of wine and started writing. I typed out a refreshed resume for Exactly, worked on a movie review or two, edited a character description, and pitched the first issue of a comic book idea I had to
arlekin. I was a little surprised and proud of myself for the way the pitch turned out; I'll have to clean it up a bit, expand it and post it to
writerrabbit sometime in the near future. Probably Monday.
Just like that, I'm out of my funk. I'm confident and comfortable. I'm kicking ass and taking names at work. Tonight, dinner at Tarragon. Tomorrow, more business ass-kicking and then a Sondheim musical. Sunday, a drive to Santa Cruz and Big Bend National Park.
Life is sweet. :)
