For some reason, I think this is very funny. Maybe it's me showing my age, but I'm beginning to side with Grandpa on this storyline. :)

Saw "The Brothers Grimm" last night, and it was really great. The best fantasy, to me, always feels like some kind of feverish dream, and this was no exception. A lot of people dig on Gilliam because his special effects weren't the slickly-produced CGI we've gotten used to, but that only serves to heighten the surreality of it, and makes it, for some reason, even scarier. The monsters and forest and everything is moving in these ways that remind you they're technically impossible, that they aren't supposed to exist, but they DO and they're coming to get you. *shudder* :D

So yes, go see it.

Tonight, I'll see "Red Eye" with my crush-of-the-unspecified-time-period, Cillian Murphy. There's something about the strangeness of his face and that gentle, velvety voice that oozes quiet menace that gets me. Tube could still lick him in a fight though.

Then! I will try once more for wine, cheese, and "Brazil." Hopefully the DVD actually works this time.
