I think I'm finally hitting the tail end of my slump, thankfully. With the flood of ideas finally comes the iniative to do something with them. I don't want to talk too much about them, because that'd be wasting energy on bragging about something that hasn't happened yet; I'd rather devote the time to actually *doing* them. Still, a small to-do list for this weekend:

+ Write letters to folks who're getting surprises in the mail.
+ Write two poems.
+ Finish game synopses for Odis' Eberron game.
+ Write two or three short short stories (or fictionlets).
+ Get my ratty fix.

Talking to [livejournal.com profile] toob the other night really kind of straightened me out. It's nice to have someone you know who loves you but ain't afraid to slap you around when you need it. :)

That being said, there's a long way to go still in my development as a person. It's odd, but when you start to become overly proud of your accomplishments you'll find them slowly starting to be erased right before your eyes. It's generally a good idea to just stick your nose to the grindstone and keep pushing, no matter how far you think you might have come.

There's a lot more I want to say, but I've already said it before. I want to push myself into saying something different, into giving up old assumptions and ideas. That'll take a lot more than just expressing the desire, though.

So, here I go. :)

Hey, I think this was the original meme, or a very old great-grandfather of them, at least. Haven't seen it floating around for a while, so I thought I would join up to the community and see what's doing.

Turns out there are *two* Friday Five communities, the Friday Fivers (remnants of the original FridayFive.org) and the Friday Five, which was set up to replace FridayFive.org when it went down. I generally like the questions on the second group a lot more, so those are the ones I've gone with. I should provide links to both communities, but I'm at work so I should make this sort of quick.

Anyway, without furher ado:

1 thing that's on your mind right now

Diet. Not anything like Atkins (or anything low-carb, for that matter), but just better eating choices in general. Cutting out sodas, the bulk of sugars (I'm not going to give up toffee crunch cookies, though), steering clear of high fructose corn syrup and fast food; stuff like that. If I can display a bit more self-control and sensible eating habits, half the battle to get rid of this bush belly I've got going will be already won.

2 songs you like

Awww, just two? :)

Right now I'm addicted to Matchbox Twenty's "More Than You Think You Are," though the Postal Service's "Give Up" is creeping up on me quite a bit. My favorite songs right now are "The Difference" by Matchbox Twenty and this song about a guy hiding in his house during a nuclear 'event' by the Postal Service. For the life of me I can't think of the name right now.

3 things that make you angry

Arrogance, needless and obsessive negativity, and Kevin Costner.

4 things that make you happy

[livejournal.com profile] toob, [livejournal.com profile] lazarusrat, bunnies and good, good food.

5 people who have made a big impact on your life

[livejournal.com profile] toob, [livejournal.com profile] lazarusrat, my 8th grade algebra teacher (Mrs. Chance), an old boyfriend by the name of Lou, and (though it'll make his head big) [livejournal.com profile] stickypawz, my best friend. :)

Spread the love!
