"Sunrise" by Norah Jones is really infectious. There's something about that nice, heavy, smoky voice that's like cream in coffee. Mmmm. :9

I'm in fairly good spirits these days, though I can't really shake the whole feeling of guilt from a few weeks back. A lot of it is I know I should be doing better by friends and folks who bend over backwards for me, but I never do. I get offended, or selfish, and instead of talking about it I internalize everything and never say anything. So I'm just distancing myself from folks a lot anyway. Hurrah for me!

Made a new friend over this week, though, which is good, and I really am working on it. The problem, that is.

I haven't been posting much because I've taken the attitude of "Don't talk about it, just do it." to heart. I'm gathering steam, I guess, working on being...immersed in what I'm doing. It feels good, but that's all I'll say. ;)

The Bookshop is going well! I think I kind of weird out my coworkers sometimes, especially when I get little sleep, so I have to make sure I get a good rest to maintain workplace comfort, or something. :) Right now, the big project is getting all the duplicate books in the computer room straightened. I finally have a somewhat definitive Gardening section, so now I can straighten out Birds and work on National Georgraphic/Time-Life Nature Books from there. I love it when things just kind of fall together that way. I think I might take in my CD player today or something; I really jones for music or something when I'm back there.

Tried playing mini-golf yesterday but by the time I got off work it was way too cold and the place was closed anyway. So Odis Ryngs and I went to Burger King instead and he spazzed and spazzed and spazzed about things. :) I adore hanging with the man because he can get...immersed in something. His passion for what he does is infectious, and it's really about the work, not all the perks you gain with it. Maybe stupid Taoism has something to it after all. ;)

I was actually kind of hoping for an undefeated mini-golf year, but that didn't pan out. Sparky beat me the second go-round at Congo River Golf in Orlando, damn him! First Monopoly, now this. :P Ah well. I'm still...what, 4-1 on the year? Maybe today Odis Ryngs and I can go play a round or two.

Let's see...what else. Oh! I'll be performing stand-up at Oklacon and Anthrocon this year, possibly Midwest FurFest again. Hopefully last year wasn't a fluke; I'm pretty nervous about it all already. <:) I'll also be heading up the Spirituality Track at Oklacon this year, and I have a few things planned; Zen meditation sessions in the mornings, a storyteller's circle one evening. I'd really love to do a Totem Retrieval exercise one night and then play the Bone Game the next night (Tom Harker's "The Way of the Shaman" anyone?) I'll have to talk to Horses Ghost and/or Delphi to see what's feasible. It's a small con, and I don't want to look like I'm dominating programming. <:) I'm still poor. :P Turns out the financial situation I thought was resolved isn't resolved and I'm going to be destitute for another month. It's all right, for the most part; I could be a bit more responsible with my cash...ok, a *lot* more responsible, and it's all a matter of sticking it out. Things'll resolve themselves in time, it's just getting from here to there that's less than desirable. Changeling game tonight. Haven't played in three weeks, hopefully we won't have lost any momentum. We ended the last game in a kind of high-stress/confusing situation, so a lot depends on how I open things tonight. I'm looking forward to it. :)

Played mini-golf with Odis Ryngs today. Him: 44. Me: 42. Par: 40. We were both off our games, him just a little bit more so. Record for the year: 5-1.

Re-registered to vote today. I should be getting a shiny new registration card featuring my current address today. Score!

Changeling didn't happen, but it frees me up to write like I want to. Since tomorrow is my late day, I can stay up tonight with impunity. :)

I'm mulling a Dark Ages: Fae campaign when the book comes out. Both of the players who stuck around tonight really seemed to like the idea. We'll see what happens.

There was something else to go here, but I forgot what it was. Blah.
