Hey there, all...

I have no idea where this came from exactly. I've had a string of phrases collecting in my head for a while now and they finally sort of came together. It's, well, about remorse. No personal experience here, except with the emotion. It's supposed to be a song. 10 points if you can guess where I aped the meter from. ;)

Note: It isn't very good.

Prom Night Aftermath

When I wrote this down
I broke my hand
to match my heart
you understand

I appreciate the gravity
of getting you to notice me,
yeah

A high-school urge,
a welcome chance
to finally purge
that junior dance,
yeah.

A stumbling fool all caked in punch,
it took all night 'til I was done,
yeah.

So bathe me in your sympathy
I've seen the worst and it was me
I totalled all my bargain chips
and now I'm down to your friendship

You drove me home
at half-past four
I stumbled through
the bedroom door

I grabbed your waist and stole a kiss,
in all I've wanted, it wasn't this
no,
oh no.

So drown me in your sympathy,
pay your respects to Nobody.
I've used up all my bargain chips,
you should never touch my big fat lips,
no.

Among chicken bones
and brussel sprouts
I knew your boyfriend
would find out

I took the chance and now I'm dead,
there's far too much that's now been said,
yeah.

So give me all your sympathy
I've caused you pain and I'm sorry
I've fucked up all my new-found friends
I guess this is how the story ends,
yeah.

Hey there, all...

So AC has become a 'probably not' in one fell stroke. :/ Charles told me I probably couldn't have the time off because there are too many people leaving the Bookshop in July and August. Katy and Bernadette, two of our key people, are heading on to other projects; Bernadette for a job teaching people how to communicate better, and Katy to Germany for a job in international journalism. It's bad enough that they're leaving as it is, but now I can't go to AC because of it. :/

Hopefully, Charles will change his mind...he's good at that. But as it is I'm not holding out much hope.
