Lifting Folly
May. 16th, 2003 11:33 amHey there, all...
Still sick, but feeling better. My ribs don't feel like creaking every time I take a deep breath, and I don't get quite so winded whenever I walk over a space longer than my bedroom. Still feel pretty down, though, so I'm going to take it easy this weekend.
Wrote a synopsis of the first story arc for Salvation a little bit ago, and I'm happy with it. It feels like things are finally beginning to take shape for Milo and crew, enough where I feel comfortable with actually creating the story now.
potoroo is still balking (he thinks he's untalented, the fool), but I know he can do this. I have faith in him.
It's odd how quickly the urge to write has welled up again. I really think Tyrnn and I splitting up has worked out well for both of us; Boomer Express continues to improve, and I think that once this story is over it'll be something that's really good. :)
All in all, I'm in good spirits, despite feeling like crap. Watched "Kundun" yesterday. I do have a bit of a problem with Tibetan Buddhism (too structured; too reverential of its head, etc. etc.), but they're still very close to the core of their beliefs. There was an undercurrent of optimism running through the events, even as the Dalai Lama was forced to leave Tibet. Even though the events were tragic, you were never sad. It's...interesting. Also, I think that was one of the first Philip Glass soundtracks I didn't absolutely hate. His music, I think, is obviously designed for pictures.
Not going to see The Matrix Reloaded until Sunday. I think I will be one of the last people in American to see it, but that's fine. It means I won't have to deal with quite so many crowds. :)
