Sephiroth Ebonblade Is a Twisted Mo-Fo
Nov. 27th, 2002 09:57 amHey there, all...
Today is looking pretty good; it's my late day at work today, so I get to slack off (read: write) for a couple hours before heading in, finishing up the General Christianity section and taking the desk at around 4 or 5. After that,
arlekin comes over and we run a Changeling game. Last week's was pretty much DOA, but I do have an idea for a plotline *this* time around. I should probably make little notes somewhere about things, and make characters and all that. I'll do that after the shower.
After that, it's Thanksgiving! I'll probably get to come home to all of my friends next door, watching a movie or something, at the very least drinking. :) Hurrah for Thanksgiving! I'm really looking forward to the next few days.
Don asked me over to his place last night to help him get on-line and do a few things, so I showed him where there was jazz music, and alerted him to the wondrous possibilities of Internet radio. The bastard has DSL, he'd better be getting some use out of it! He downloaded WinAmp (2) and RealPlayer (8), too, so he has access to all the cool streaming media with a minimum of the hassle associated with getting the latest versions of each. Hmm...is it possible to be a techno-Luddite?
It was a lot of fun, because it actually seemed like I knew what I was doing for once, even despite all of my meager computer knowledge. Afterwards he took me out for dinner at A Taste of Thai, which was really good. Not feeling particularly adventurous, I had the chicken fried rice with *no* spice, some sake (:9) and a cup of jasmine tea. All in all, it was really, really neat. He drove me home and paid me $40, which I adamantly refused but he forced on me anyway. I was a bit tipsy by then and it was $40, so I took it. <:) He promised not to pay me next time, though. I mean, really...when I think about any number of friends who would be able to show him things far, far grander than I could manage, why on Earth should I take the money? Blagh, I feel like such a charlatan. Albeit, a well-paid one. I'm still thinking about making a pineapple upside-down cake for Turkey Day. Any recommendations about what would make it *extra-special*, folks? I'd appreciate any help. <:)
