Hey there, all...

So, there we go. That's it. The Class Menagerie is ending after five years. It's very odd how people get attached to little doodlings on paper that someone decides to give a distinct personality, but hey, I was hooked very nearly from the start. Vince Suzukawa is one of the main reasons I wanted to start my own comic in the first place; his attention to the little details and subtle changes that all of his characters went through were really, really impressive. It will definitely be missed.

And so will he. I won't get to see him at MFF, damnit. :(

Beyond that, things are cool. Work is a bit of a bear; the re-organization (of course) is way more complicated than I thought, but I'm improvising OK. In a couple of weeks, I figure I'll settle into the whole thing rather nicely. In the meantime I'll be putting in lots of extra hours...

Writing projects have all but ground to a halt, which really, really sucks. I'll try to rectify that this weekend.

Went out for a birthday party last night; a girl named Nikoya, whom I've only met once, invited me to her best friend Naja's 25th birthday party. It was a lot of fun! We went out to Shogun, a Japanese steakhouse, that had awesome, awesome miso and pretty decent sake; after the second cup or so, I was ready to pass out. Man, I'm such a lightweight. <:) I had the steak and chicken, which was actually really good. I ordered the steak well done, to the point where the chef actually lit the chunks on fire and dumped them on my plate. The meat was very nicely burned and had that little hint of charred flavor to it. :9 Went to Toys R Us, which turned out to be very very evil; there was a wood and glass game set, one of those 7-in-1 things that had all kinds of games only lamers play anymore...but this one had a cribbage board! Awesome. :D I can't wait to play it with someone; I doubt anyone in NARFA has ever heard of cribbage, though. <:) But at least I have a pretty swanky chess set...now all I need is a low table for it. I broke Ramadan on Friday. Silver, the evil religion-defying raccoon from hell, offered me an otter pop at 8 yesterday morning, and being the foolish Adam I am, I took it, and ate it...and didn't realize I had done it until halfway through. So I finished it. No point in letting good ice-bar-things go to waste. At least it was good. :9 I use way too many smileys when I write. Time to cut down.
