Hey there all...
Work is being honestly, really kind of scary. In addition to the Religion, Philosophy, Occult and Nature sections (all of which are complete and total disasters) I found out that I'm getting Poetry, Black and Native American Studies and probably Folklore/Mythology, too. This is good, in general, because just about all of these are some of my favourite sections, but I feel like I'm so overwhelmed I can't give those sections the TLC they deserve.
Most of this is because we're pretty understaffed, all things told. Also, the owners keep *buying* books and that's undermining our abilities to undo the damage that Jeremy did in letting his sections go to hell. Add that to all of our regular duties (Bernadette and Katie both have a lot of sections they can't get caught up on) and we're *all* really frustrated. We're going to get together for an employee meeting next Tuesday to discuss our concerns and what we can do to get the owners to see that this situation just can't fly.
I woke up this morning, slacked off and eased into a pretty productive day. It's amazing how much music can flip a mood to slovenly, slowly-failing depression to, "OK, let's see what part of the mountain I can chip off today!" Delphi, thank you *so* much for that CD...it is a total godsend and I am forever in your debt. :)
Now, I go to work. Today's my first 'late day' working the desk in the evenings. Wish me luck. :)
