Hey there, all...

Ugh...the human body was not meant to remain stationary for the better part of 26 straight hours with little room to move. I'm *still* sore from the drive back to Arkansas.

Yet, despite all that, AntrhoCon was worth it this year. I (finally) had fun, despite the fact that there were some *guh* 1600+ people crammed into the Adam's Mark hotel this year...and it seemed I knew *half* of them at one point or another. ;)

I won't bore you with the details of the con, or a list of everyone I met/hung out with, because I'm going to leave something or someone out, and it would be really bad...so let's just say I had a very good time hanging out with everyone I did hang out with (you know who you are), buying pr0n and just goofing off in general.

And for once, I'm looking forward to doing it again next year.

OK, so there *were* three highlights to AC: meeting lots of people I usually only get to see over there, performing in the Improvisation panel and (oddly enough) getting issues 2 and 3 of Circles. If you guys don't know what Circles is, or haven't gotten it yet, check it out. It's so very worth it, and it's something that my obsessive little personality is beginning to latch on to quite a bit. I cannot *wait* for the next issue to come out.

That, and I found that Duncan and Blackfeather were writing again...so now I've got a fire lit under me to get on all those stories I've been meaning to start on but never have. Hopefully, I'll make some progress on it. Wish me luck!

2, Gentle, Chaser and I got back to Arkansas Monday at 9 pm or so, and like a silly little stupidhead I didn't immediately go to bed, so when the time came for me to go to work on Tuesday, I didn't feel like going...so I didn't. Bad bird.

I took the day off with the full intention on cleaning up my space, and getting it ready for a bit of writing...when Ryngs came down, and we ended up playing mini-golf and eating lunch at Pepper's (formerly IHOP) instead. We spazzed at each other for a long while, in a way we haven't done in about a month. That was mostly my fault, as I was so stressed for AC. We wagered the mini-golf game on what movie we were going to see, and I trounced him by 5 strokes. Yay me! We went to see "Lilo and Stitch".

By the time we got home, Arlekin and Owlkin were both there, Arlekin to play in the Changeling game I run on Tuesdays, Owlkin to work on his fursuit with Ryngs. When neither really panned out, Owlkin and I went to play pool. He kicked my ass. Then we bowled a couple of games, and that was a bit closer. I kept choking on the tenth frame, though I only managed a 107 on the first game, and a 94 on the second.

I'm a little surprised at how...competitive I am. I really like playing pool, or card games, or mini-golf, or whatever, mainly to...just do something well. It's not so much beating the other person that appeals to me (maybe it's a *bit* of a happy bonus), but it's the idea of getting better at something, and seeing that improvement over time. All the benefits of self-improvement, I guess, with a lot less work. :)

Ah well...just when I thought I wouldn't have to stress about anything for a while, there's a situation at work. :) The book catalogues (you know, subject headings like Biography, Religion, Psychology and the like) in our database aren't matching up with the ones on the ABE website, and we couldn't figure out why. That means a lot of our books won't show up when people do casual searches for whatever might be interesting. This is known as a Bad Thing.

Upon further investigation, it turns out that the ABE website can only handle 100 catalogue headings. How many do we have in our database? My rough estimates have about 220 or so. That means that very likely we have to completely overhaul our catalogue database, broaden the terms (No more country-specific headings) and re-list every book we have. And when you have some 5000 books up for sale, that's no small feat.

I love my job. ;)

I'm trying to work up the will to get off-line (I think I may have gone and gotten myself addicted again) so I can work on everything that needs doing, including short stories, Changeling re-vamp stuff, hanging out with the local furs I've been neglecting, working out(!), getting my stuff in order, learning how to drive, learning how to play tennis, blah blah blah. I'm feeling fairly refreshed. Wee hah!
