Hey there, all...

So, I'm back. I've been feeling a little funky all week, but things have slowly but surely been getting better. Most of it, I think, comes down to a lack of sleep and a lack of confidence in my abilities. The former is easier to fix, but the latter will come in time if I can just apply myself a bit harder.

I went to see "Amelie" yesterday, and that did wonders for my mood. It is such a charming, lovely, *quirky* little movie. It's really hard not to fall in love with it, unless you're easily offended by, say....someone being killed when a woman throwing herself off a building falls on her. I *think* that's really the worst joke in the movie, but...there's a lot of joking in that vein.

I think the reason I liked the movie so much is that everyone is a little bundle of neuroses, quirks and emotional tics that make them more endearing as people. I mean, with some people quirks just make them creepy, and weird in a bad way. In "Amelie," even the loser creep who was stalking his ex-girlfriend just looked like all he needed was a little love. It was ultimately sunny, really optimistic, sweet and magical. Now I see what all the fuss is about. :)

I really think that's the magic of human interaction, though; the thing I like about strange, neurotic, or even quirky people is the stories they tell. Everyone has a reason for every habit, every routine, every little 'thing' they do that can't be explained normally. And those stories are like gold. They *always* fascinate me. It's just cool to figure out why people do the things they do. I think that's what drives me to work at shitty convenience store jobs, and that's a big reason of why I'm so fascinated by theatre. You get to *construct* a living, breathing person by adding those little tics, those little nuances that make all people.

Anyway, I'm pretty tired now, but I don't think I'm going to go to bed too soon. More slacking off to do. <:)
