Ramadan: The Return of the Pooka
Nov. 30th, 2001 04:43 pmHey there, all! Man, a few days since my last entry, I'm bad...
First of all, a bit hearty hullo to Blackfeather and Danruk, two really really really good friends of mine who just happen to have LiveJournals too! Yay. Once I find out how to give other people LiveJournals... :P
It's gotten pretty easy to fast for Ramadan. The whole 'comfort food' thing has sort of died away, and it's even a lot easier to not gorge myself once the sun comes down. ;) The full moon's here, and we're already halfway through. For about the first time, I'm kinda getting a good feeling about this whole experience. It hasn't taught me absolute iron-will over urges or anything, but it's a step in the right direction.
I've finally made a Christmas list for people...oi, is it large. :P My problem is removing guilt from the holidays...if I want to buy a present for one guy, I really should buy a present for his roommate so he doesn't feel slighted, and "What was I *thinking*, I have to buy something for this guy..." and so forth and so on. The trouble is, I have vastly limited funds, so I can only give people so much. I'll be working on personal Christmas gifts a *lot* up until the holidays.
I've been needing to meditate, ground and center and all that stuff for a while now; I think I'll manage to do it over the weekend. Also, I can buy some nice things for a Journey after I take care of next month's bills. >:)
Hmm, I'll also be writing an awful lot. I've got poetry, and I'm trying to get about six short stories done before the new year. Of course, I won't make it, but it gives me a reason to panic and write. Nothing inspires like a deadline!
Just mailed Duncan his present. Hopefully, he'll like it. Stupid dotcommers who already have everything. :P
Anyway, off to writing!
