There's No Radiohead Like Live Radiohead
Apr. 16th, 2004 08:21 amThat being said, if you haven't picked up "I Might Be Wrong" from them, you probably should. It is tres awesome. Yorke sounds a lot whinier in person, but for emo-kids like me that's the whole point. <:)
In other news, I got my federal tax return yesterday!!! :D After months of fighing the Dept. of Education about it, a check arrived in the mail! Mwahahahahahah! I am no longer destitute. OH yes, oh yes, pants and shoes, pots and pans, and maybe even a little bit of book/movie goodness. :D :D I am so happeh!
I put "House of Leaves" by Mark Z. Danielewski and "King Rat" by China Mieville on hold, I'll probably pick it up along with "Stardust" by Neil Gaiman today. That'll put a capper on the book buying for a while; now I get to read all of this. ;) I think I'll be taking the bus to and from work a lot more to get through it all.
I'm planning a big fat "Kill Bill" party on Saturday. Vol. 1 in the afternoon, Vol. 2 in the evening, and then merriment and celebration afterwards. Well, for everyone else. I'll probably lock myself in my room to write. <:) "Grey Warming Over" is...coming along slowly. :/ I'm still not comfortable enough with it to really get in the groove, mainly because history isn't a strong point and I'd really hate to come up with blatant inaccuracies. Because the last Changeling game sucked so badly, my confidence as a storyteller has hit a pretty big dip, and that's never good: confidence is half the game.
I had a dream about becoming a monk last night. I ran away to live in a monastery somewhere in Washington state, and had managed to get time out to go to Anthrocon. So I was walking around with a shaved head and orange robes, catching up on everyone's lives in NARFA and talking about what it was like 'inside'. For some reason, I really like that dream.
The room is also coming together slowly. I've been working down my desk to a manageable level; when everything comes together I'll be buying a power strip for the Linux computer so it can become officially operational. ;) From there, I'll be trying my best to stay on it as much as possible.
That's...about it.
