The Adventures of Free Wheeler
Hey there, all...
March is turning out to be a very busy month, indeed. We've had another good visit from the Tulsa furs, and *every* weekend this month is going to be filled with people coming down to the NARFA Cube or representatives from Arkansas infesting some other place. It's good to be social, but my hackles are raising a little bit. I'm going to need to be creative in finding some alone time.
My tax return came Friday! It couldn't have come at a better time! My space for PMP is assured and I have some money to live on this week. :) This brings me to another thing...
I am *horrible* with money. To me, money is only this annoying middleman between me and something else (food, toys, books, CDs...). It's a lot like air; I only notice it when it's missing.
That being said, I often come out of a weekend with significantly reduced funds, wondering how the hell I managed to blow through more money than a fellow with no car should in two days. I remember little bits of the weekend, like buying McRibs for people and going out to eat once or twice, but there's always a hefty chunk of change that's just unaccounted for. It's like I just...black out or something when I'm spending cash, because I rarely remember where all the money has gone to.
I don't like being cheap. I don't like not doing things because I want to save money. It's there to spend, right? But there has to be a happy equilibrium between conservation and fun, and I'm just going to have to find it. Waking up every Monday with a lingering feeling of buyer's remorse is not a good thing. Some people get hangovers from alcohol; I get hangovers from the mall. ;P
