A Very Special Friday Five
As a child, who was your favorite superhero/heroine? Why?
Well, tastes change in childhood. :) I went from Danger Mouse to Mighty Mouse back to Danger Mouse again, then from there I went to Darkwing Duck. Danger Mouse had the intellect and wit that was just the coolest (and a very kissable nose) while Mighty Mouse just had the most awesome physique ever seen on a rodent. :) Darkwing Duck was a goober, and quite possibly the funniest 'superhero' of all time.
Now, of course, I'm all about the Beast and the X-Men. Go Hank McCoy!
What was the one thing you always wanted as a child but never got?
A hug. Without sounding whiny or depressive about it, my mother made all *kinds* of sacrifices for me to make sure I had what I needed and some of what I wanted, but she wasn't big on affection.
What's the furthest from home you've ever been?
In college I took a trip across the country with a fellow by the name of Spaceroo. We ended up staying in Grand Coulee, WA at a house his grandfather built with his bare hands. It ruled. His grandfather, apparently, had a thing for toilets.
Once, we were driving around and taking in the view of these *awesome* conifer forests, and we just kept...driving north. Finally, we made it all the way to Canada around 9 p.m., to this little tiny border town that had shut down about an hour ago. We drove aimlessly looking for *anything* that might have been open (there was A & W restaurant that would have been awesome) but after an hour of that we just went back home. When I go back out west, I'll *have* to see the Pacific Coast.
What's the one thing you've always wanted to learn but haven't yet?
Only *one* thing? Damn. I'd love to learn to speak Russian and French fluently, but at the top of the list would be 'how to learn to shut the fuck up and observe'.
What are your plans for the weekend?
I plan to shut the fuck up and observe. :) Me and a bunch of furs from NARFA are planning to start Hell Month at midnight tonight, where we all give up something important to us for a month, just to see who dies/kills someone else before February is out. Most of us has chosen alcohol, but that's too easy for me; I really don't drink too much, I'd rather eat. So, I decided to give up MUCKs, AIM and ICQ for the entire month of February.
Sorry if this is a bit sudden, and I hope no one gets pissed off about it (yeah, right). I still have e-mail and my good friend LiveJournal for the month, so if you want to talk and keep in touch, I can brush up on my letter-writing skills. :)

Beyond that, I've got Remnants #5 and I'll probably read that, along with finishing up The First Discourse of the Buddha. I plan on spending a bit of time with 2, writing as much as I possibly can, and drinking a lot while the poor teatotallers are forced to sit and watch. :)
Oh yes, and I have to finish writing last week's game summary, as well as getting the game together for this week.
So, while I won't be very talkative, perhaps, at least I'll be busy.
