And There Will Be...
Hey there, all...
It's been a little bit since I've posted, I guess. Not much has happened, the usual yo-yo of emotions have still got me in their grip. One minute I'll be extremely frustrated, the next I'm yiffy like no one's business, the next minute I'd give my right arm for a back massage. Do you think I'm going through some male version of menopause or something? :P
This weekend I headed up to Kansas City to visit Rozberk with Joey providing the transportation. It was a pretty fun time; we didn't do much of anything but sit there and cuddle, watching bad movies, an *endless* barrage of commercials for the Powerpuff Girls, and visited one or two local furs. I also got to see Halex, Kendra, RC Rabbitsfoot, Roofus Roo and Nikon, albeit briefly. All in all, it was very, very nice and relaxing.
Left Friday after Ryngs stopped by the Bookshop and 'persuaded' me into taking off 30 minutes early (I was actually going to stay two hours late, too; what can I say, he brings out the slacker in me), and we wound up eating somewhere and playing mini-golf (in *sweltering* heat, no less) afterwards. I got home, gave Joey a ring, and after waiting for more than an hour (I swear, he takes the longest showers ever...must be cleaning out that hollow leg... >:)), we were on our way.
The drive was pretty uneventful, except for nearly being sideswiped by a trailer and then being told "Go to hell" in nifty trucker speak (basically morse slang using your tail-lights). We got his information, though, so I'm sure Joey'll be registering a complaint in his own due time.
Let's see...we took Nikon and Roofus with us for a viewing of "Australia: Land Beyond Time" at the local IMAX theatre. I hadn't gone to an IMAX film in quite some time, actually...it was pretty intense. The flying sensation, combined with a pretty awesome soundtrack, just...was indescribable. I'm seriously thinking about what it would be like to hang-glide, or even jump out of an airplane.
Sunday we didn't do much of anything, except see "Night of the Lepus" (a very disappointing giant rabbit movie) and "Ocean's Eleven", which was clever but not *great*. Still, I liked it. Well-acted, and from all accounts I've heard, better than the original. :)
After that, we left for home, getting back sometime around 10 p.m. or so. Silver Raccoon arrived soon after, and in the span between me getting back and him arriving I managed to get myself in a bear of a bad mood. Mainly computer troubles...again. 2 and Delphi stopped by, though, and I think maybe the Net connection has gotten a bit better. Either way, it's almost stopped crashing completely since we got the new fan. That is definitely a good thing.
AC, by the way, is just around the corner if you haven't noticed. ;) In addition to the money crunch (which has largely been alleviated), not enough time to do what I'd like and the worry that somehow I won't have fun this year, I think I might be coming down with some kind of cold. I'm going to spend the next three days trying *very* hard to get rid of it, since it wouldn't do to be sick at the convention *or* pass it along to carmates for the ride up there.
I've been stressed non-stop these past few weeks, and it's caused me to become a bit of a bastard. I went into a public place and just...needlessly bitched about something or another. I whined to a couple friends, and was generally in a bad mood last night. I didn't give Silver a proper welcome, and Ryngs has been bearing the brunt of my freak-outs for quite some time now. *sigh* I just kinda sat back this morning and realized how testy I was being.
So, to everyone I might have...affected by my moodiness over the past few weeks, I'm really sorry. Hopefully everything will have calmed down after AC, and I'll be able to relax after the con, and focus on things that I'd really like to be doing. Just...bear with me. :)
Tonight, the usual NARFA meeting, followed by RP(!), then preparing for AC and working on tomorrow night's Changeling game. Ooof. Busybusybusy.
