Through The Horses
Hey there, all...
After a pretty crappy week, things are beginning to clear. Most of the fallout has sort of settled, Joey's beginning the move-out, and my cold seems to be doing better.
Still, Joey's got a cold, had a really horrible day at work yesterday (didn't get home until 1 a.m.), and in general hasn't been feeling up to snuff. Hurrah.
Most of the people who were going to the HGP down here have flaked out for varying reasons...right now, it looks like it's down to me, Ryngs and Delphy. More car space, I suppose, and we get to have the cabin to ourselves (and our companions). Between the six of us, I don't think we'll have much time and/or space for nookie. :P
My computer went through the whole 'chronic crash' thing all yesterday, and I can't figure out why (besides overheating) it's doing that. I wanted to ask Joey about it, but he's got so much on his plate right now I didn't dare ask him. I'll probably do it once I come back from HGP; things should clear up considerably for the both of us by then.
Speaking of the HGP, I'm running around like a headless chikken trying to get things ready for the Predator and Prey game I'm running. It's not enough that I'm doing it, no, it's got to *look* nice. I want people not only to have fun, but to be impressed. Must be the Leo in me. ;)
Of course, this means a bit more work. I've been working on descriptions for animals all this week...until all the stupid crashing completely erased all of what I'd been working on. So now I have about a day to come up with things for 26 animals and get them on nifty little index cards. Nothing worth doing is ever easy. :P
I finally got a response on the Spirituality Track for AC...the position went to Tygermoon Foxx. Am I disappointed? Yes, I wanted to do it, despite the fact I would have floundered around for a while. But Tygermoon is very, very capable, and'll probably do a much better job than my ambitious little self could hope to maintain.
And it also leaves me with time to just kick back, relax and have fun. Something tells me I should learn the joys of wandering alone anyway. :)
I finally got outstanding eBay auctions settled. My Kithbook: Sluagh and Land of 8 Million Dreams should be arriving shortly. :D That much close to having a complete set...the Official WW Changeling list I'm on has kind of flared up with various subjects, which is cool. I haven't really had that many people I can spazz about the game to. :)
I'm sort of not looking forward to coming home to a virtually empty apartment when I get back. Joey, I'm sure, will have moved out by the weekend, and it'll be pretty depressing to see him gone. Even though I like the idea of living alone...it's going to be pretty odd not having a friend share your living space. I'm going to have to get a modem and/or stereo and/or pet asap to combat encroaching quiet. :P I'll also have to think about decorating; for the longest time, I've wanted to set the place up for focus...whether that be writing, meditating or gaming, whathaveyou. I'm going to ask Joey's help, since he is the master of Space and time. The place is gonna look like shit without him. ;)
Sylvan mentioned an interesting question on his LiveJournal...between Superman, Batman, Green Lantern and Captain Marvel, which superhero would you most like to be?
I think I would be most like Batman...fighting crime for the sense of duty, revenge and...hatred for people who disrespect other people. Batman is angsty, angry, and dark, but at heart he's just a guy trying to do the right thing...by any means necessary. ;)
At the same time, I'd really admire Captain Marvel. Yeah, he's big and cheesy, but the purity of spirit that he embodies is something I view as...sacred. In an age when everyone has some kind of agenda, or selfish (not necessarily bad or wrong) reason for doing things...seeing someone who is *truly* selfless, who gives himself over completely to a single ideal...it's *better* than gold.
No more ranty for me. :) Time to get ready for HGP and get off work!
