Remember Kids
When you're feeling down, all you need is one good song to get into to make you feel better. Today, that song is "I Will Wait" by Hootie and the Blowfish. Maybe I should buy their CDs; I've had "Cracked Rear View" and "Fairweather Johnson" probably three times or so on cassette, but I've lost them in moves *every* time.
Still coughing. At least four or five customers in the Bookshop says they sound painful. :P They're not, but they do give me headaches. They're dry, booming coughs that don't really produce anything any more, so I'm kind of worried. Hopefully this'll all get better by the time the medicine's out. I think I'll actually take Reah's advice and pick up some OTC Claritin next time I'm out.
Picked up comics yesterday! I got "Astonishing X-Men #2," "Excalibur #2," "New X-Men #2," and "X-Men #158." Thinking about making Sylvan-styled reviews of them, but...hmmm. It would be a clumsy homage. Let me just say I'm kind of disappointed in Claremont's writing and mildly impressed by Austen thus far. Whedon has a big surprise in store for Astonishing #3, and I can't wait. <:) Today, I wish I didn't have anything to do, but I do. Long day at work, and then Chaser's game. Blah. I think I'll take a bit of writing with me, there's probably a nice little chunk of it that I won't be directly involved in, so...I just don't feel like doing much tonight. I might beg off or something. Right now I'm reading "The Stranger" by Camus (still), which continues to be neat. ;) I read it in high school last time, so there's a lot I didn't pick up on. I'm also reading the first book in the Thomas Covenant the Unbeliever trilogy, "Lord Foul's Bane". I've only gotten 16 pages in because...well, leprosy sucks, and Donaldson wants to let you know that. Nearly got sick on the bus twice. I love a book that can make me retch. :D The writing is kind of 80's big-hair-rock cheese, but as long as you're willing to work within those confines everything's groovy. I'm also trying on a chapter of "The Wind in the Willows" at bedtime every evening, so if I turn in way early, it's the whole being sick thing and...that. I should make lunch and eat some breakfast afore work comes.
