T.G.I.W.T.F.?
Today was very strange. Foolishly checking the MUCK before work, I was accused of doing rather...opportunistic things because of someone's art, mainly because of a few misconceptions. Instead of calmly explaining why these views were incorrect and asking the accuser to talk to a few other people who will vouch for me, I had a minor freak-out and logged out. Honestly, I'm so tired of the big deal people make out of art I could not look at another giant uber-hung male and be fine. Stories and logs are another deal entirely...
So, with my groove almost immediately tripped up out of the gate, I head to work. There's a particular co-worker who's been studiously ignoring me for the past few weeks, so I finally went up to him and asked him what's wrong. He told me he doesn't think much of me anymore, and that I could figure it out if I tried, and that 'we're paid to work, not socialize, so we'd better get on with it.' What? I missed something somewhere, obviously.
The little shindig for the Super Bowl down here at the Cube has run into a snag or two because what constitutes a good time for folks is directly incompatible. So, I change the place we're having the big TV-watching party, only to hear that the people I've changed things around for won't be around after all. I don't know if it's a substantiated rumor or not, but now there's that worry.
And to top it all, the owner of the apartment complex told the apartment manager told me that I either get new tires for my car or it will be towed. Never mind the fact that they were slashed on his property, or that I just don't have the money to replace them right now, not to mention that there's no way I could pay for the towing fees...so, any substantial windfall of money that comes my way (read: next paycheck, tax refund) will have to go to getting the car in order and insured. Which is something I needed to do anyway, but I was hoping that I could...make it a little lower on the priority list. No dice.
Life, really, you can stop tap-dancing on my balls now. There'll be nothing left, I promise.
In other news, I guess I can feel comfortable about voting for Kerry in the general election should Kucinich(ha!) not make it:
1. Kucinich - 100%
2. Kerry - 100%
3. Dean - 95%
4. Clark - 92%
5. Sharpton - 91%
6. Edwards - 90%
7. Lieberman - 79%
8. Bush - 23%
Of course, a ten-point spread between top dog and number 6 in my poll worries me. I think perhaps the Democrats are relying on the "We aren't Bush!" a wee bit too much.
Tonight, Odis' game; hopefully that will rock hard enough to make up for this miscarriage of a day.
Despite this, spirits are pretty high. I'm just...confused about how things could go from 0 to suck in the course of 12 hours. Ah well, time to start shoveling myself out. :)
