Even I Get Sick

Hey there, all...

My shoulders are sore, there's a little tickle in my throat to tell me there's a cold possibly on the way, and I've banged my right knee no less than three times going up a ladder. I don't think a body part has been in so much pain since that tragic left nipple accident over in Christianity.

I'm over halfway done with We. Some folks could read it in an afternoon, blah blah blah, but I'm a slow reader; I tend to go over passages a couple times just to make sure I get the implications. I like to digest my books like I digest my half-eaten cheeseburgers; very, very slowly. :9

Anyway, the further I get into it, the more disjointed and confused D-503 becomes. It's really fascinating to see him struggle to come up with ideas and images for feelings he's never had before, especially as he's never been trained to express them. You see him trying to hold on to his logic even after he's given in to his 'incurable soul', and it makes him that much more intriguing. He's done a pretty admirable job so far; he should have been a poet instead of a mathematician...even if some folks would say they're the same thing. <:) I want a burger for lunch, but alas, there aren't really any places nearby that offer good ones. They don't 'allow' fast food anywhere near Dickson St., so I think I'll head over to Lenny's for the next best thing: a chicken cheesesteak sub. Oh yes, grease out the wazoo washed down with a big old cup of sweet tea. More discoveries with (recently-acquired) cable: "The Daily Show With Jon Stewart" is damned funny. Despite my body feeling like it's been beaten with Billy Graham's autobiography, today's been pretty good to me so far. :)
